*The kitsune began laughing out loud, the humor of the picture being quite amusing to this one.* "I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time. While that quote has much truth to it, putting the quote in with the whole 'Deal With It' meme gives it a hilarious context that wouldn't normally come from such a quote alone."

Warm greetings, and welcome to the forum, H4ck3rm4n. Glad you finally made it here, must have missed your posts during the initial approval system.

Two of my favorites are Gandhi's "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” and “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Both helped me a lot while conducting research because that type of work required as much patience as I have.

It is absolutely necessary, for the peace and safety of mankind, that some of earth's dark, dead corners and unplumbed depths be let alone; lest sleeping abnormalities wake to resurgent life, and blasphemously surviving nightmares squirm and splash out of their black lairs to newer and wider conquests.

The most merciful thing in the world... is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.

The world is indeed comic, but the joke is on mankind.

"I believe it was H.P. Lovecraft who said something along the lines of 'It is impossible to live sanely in a world of fact and detail', barring that I've got the words in the right order, and I'm inclined to agree. Without imagination, or original stimuli, folks oughtta go crazy quick. The Iranians, I think, or maybe the Iraqi, used a plain white room to torture people. That was it. You were just put in a white room, even your food was just white rice. And it was effective, people went positively nuts in minutes. Germans have a word for people who look at everything through the detailed lenses of a separation of fact and imagination, 'Faktidioten' I believe, which means 'fact idiots'. I can't imagine a world like that."

The prior H.P. Lovecraft reminded me of this babble. This was my friend Santiago and I'd correspondence, or at least a part of it. I'll post the rest in its own thread later. Quite a lot of interesting ideas thrown around.

While studying at my local library on my most enjoyable subject, quantum physics, I uncovered a quote I found quite interesting and thought provoking by J. B. S. Haldane:
