It is August the ninth in nineteen forty five,
As a ‘Fat Man’ detonates way up in the heavens
Not much of Nagasaki will manage to survive,
For fate is a gap in those covering clouds, Captain Beahan’s,
The last chance to decimate a totally unwitting crowd,
Disassemble some mainly forced labour humans,
Fill that space with a blossoming mushroom cloud

Drop your dark satanic seed, leave the island barely alive
One giant gust of destruction equals sixty thousand dead,

A last stand of windowless walls, a charred and empty bed,

We veer ever closer to the edge of a nuclear conflict, when will we ever learn in a world lead by an ever increasing number of ego preening so called 'strongmen' who I sometimes believe would rather see the world burned to a cinder than lose one milligram of face. It is both irresponsible and dangerous on the part of human kind in its majority to underwrite despots such as these with their support, voluntarily or otherwise. We must stand up for the future.

It is true that many sensible people would like to achieve a better world without fighting for it. However, war brings about change. And change is how the human race has survived so long. Yes, war is bloody and unpleasant, however, many thing in life are unpleasant but necessary. For example, human fecal matter is unpleasant, yet it is necessary in order for us to live.
As to your statement Hope, many people do not care if the pursuit for a better world brings about war or not. As a matter of fact, many profit from war (such as industry and politicians). In a perfect world change would result with an unpleasant struggle.
However, I hope that there never is a nuclear war. It is different to kill the innocent than to kill those who are putting themselves in danger of dying. (I do not like the fact that people must die in some cases, but it is needed for some scenarios). A nuclear war puts not only armed forces at risk of death or killed, but anyone in the area.
