Re: IMPORTANT

Post by DINSX »

I guess what's important falls more under the third option. Importance as a word is a human construct just as every word. Nothing is really important as what we define as important are things we are told to care about mixed in with our primitive emotions.
Think of importance like determination, we all deem certain things higher than most, but it's all to attain some form of desire, not for the thing itself. Neither importance or determination are self-sufficent, they must be bestowed by others and because of that they are not the highest human good. Good deeds are good, but are they "important?" No. Good deeds are virtuous and therefore have self-sustaining value, but value doesn't entitle importance.
