Eros is often associated with raw unfiltered love,desire, or lust. Ignorantly associated with an uncontrollable sexual desire, which mind you, pisses everyone off when you further that outside of naivety.
Love incarnate, born with the original primordials out of chaos,every Greek deity was swayed by love in some way.
He reincarnated or was reinvented as the child of Venus and Mars. Beauty/Mercy and War/Severity. He uses a weapon, to incite the exact opposite of destruction, Eros would be a master of war on level with his father but at the most “destructive” he simply strikes one with lead arrows. Eros is to also be considered all of the Erotes combined. Symbolizing the throws of love and it’s nearly unstable nature. Jung even saying it’s more animal, but in reality this force and deity reaches from amoebas to the stars. It is one of the few true bridges of all we have experienced.

Most would say Eros acts only on passion and not thought, which is not true, it is structured. When Eros meets Psyche, the mind symbolizing the unification of heart and mind, moon and sun or vice versa, he is cloathed in darkness, and tells her he is an awful beast and never to look at him. This is a test of true love in a way, but Psyche ignores and chooses to see herself something that would’ve been eventually revealed and sees it’s a handsome young man, but the candle wax from her candle drips onto his chest and wakes him up. In most myths he immediately flies away and leaves her behind, some myths he returns and learns to forgive. It’s generally considered he was mad she went against him but returned out of real love.

The unification of Mind and Heart is one of the ultimate goals in any lifetime or any incarnation, to understand what you want and why and to prove it. Instead of either overthinking dispassionately or acting entirely on emotion. It is a union of opposites.

Jung generally will label Eros as feminine but of course according to his own philosophy men possess it too, and same with Logos being of man.

The story of Eros and Psyche deliberately reverses these gender roles on purpose, to explain that true love dissolves those egregious archetypes while also fulfilling them both in entirety.

What is the point of an adept mind if it takes no joy in life and what is the point of raw passion if it has no direction.

Eros is also forever young, symbolizing his cosmic eternal force, and detachment from stereotypical archetypes usually inherited later in life.

Magick/All energy work can ride on emotions or structured intent but everyone who is good at knows it comes from them both. Just as in tree of Life you need Mercy(Aphrodite) and Severity (Mars).
Just as many are born with wisdom beyond years and no understanding and vice versa.

This is Eros unstable, raw emotion of moon, a spiritual and emotional quagmire just as Heqet spawned from. The moon is constantly shifting phases just as the instability.

Another form of unstable Eros, not knowing love can come from within and with another person, and one thinking it will need power to be happy.

Just as the fear of god can be the beginning of All. Phobos is met usually with anyone who has been nervous around their significant other due to loving them. Love is frightening, it’s an extreme level of trust and is why Eros had his test, it’s invigorating and induces both anxiety and serenity

The inception of Love and Passion can also induce hate and sadness. For any countless number of reasons. And because Love is always the fundamental force of nature it is also the most taken advantage of.

Anyone who comes to another in nothing but love and doesn’t highlight something wrong about themselves is likely a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Eros did the opposite calling himself an animal before revealing what’s real. Just like the fear of god before the love of such. In darkness and ignorance it is scary and unstable, when brought to light it’s beautiful and understood.

The children of Eros and Psyche is the incredibly misunderstood Hedone, which is where we get hedonistic from, and her Roman name is Voluptas, which is where we get voluptuous. Again most people are gonna label the force and followers of this concept unbridled flower addicts but this is stereotype that’s not to say there will not be a prevalent appetite. Eros is also where Erotic comes from and His Roman part is Amor.

Symbols can include a heart with arrow. Wings, being one of the few gods with them despite almost all being considered to have some means of flight.

Lastly of course androgyny is associated, which we know at best is a beautiful union of opposites and at worse and unstable person who is either masculine or feminine depending on the day and gets caught in the middle failing at both
