Zdzislaw Beksinski

Some of these paintings remind me of Beksinski's work. Was Dave influenced by him?

However to your question, while I see why you might be moved to draw some connectivity between Dave’s work and that of Zdzislaw Beksinski, both painters I am sure were entirely oblivious to each other’s work. Zdzislaw was born just 10 years earlier than Dave and worked in Poland, with much of that creative time being spent behind 'The Iron Curtain', while Dave painted in the north of England. Parallel universes with surrealistic tendencies and an all seeing eye maybe, but both perhaps significantly influenced by equally unforgiving environments hence the synergistic style and technique.
