Fear of Death

Post by Sh3rl0ck »

I’ve suffered a dilemma almost all my life about the wonders of life after death and the possibility of this existence.

I’ve always been a believer in afterlife and the paranormal, but there’s always been that human logical side of me that tends to clash with my more spiritual thinking that brings the fear of death into my consciousness.
It’s almost like when I am able to believe in an afterlife it gives my life meaning, but without that concept, I feel utterly useless and I fear for my reasons of existence. When I start to believe that nothing exists, I tend to feel highly nihilistic, and my thoughts start to lead to the idea that nothing really matters. What’s the point of even continuing to live when life in a sense doesn’t have a meaning at all, because death is what really truly keeps us grounded in the sense that in human perception “time” as a concept of our life is limited.

True, there are so many things in life that make it worth living, but there’s always been that fear within me that questions “do we even live after death?” It quite honestly strikes fear into me.

Quantum physics has the developed theory that energy cannot be destroyed, only transferred. And many people have had near death experiences that makes them truly believe that life after death exists. And others have divine connections to religion and spirituality that keeps them grounded to know of a higher power at hand. But is it all true? Does anyone else feel this way? How do you live with it?

I’ve always dealt with an existential crisis in a way. It seems that I always have to find something to comfort me about this dilemma. I need to always find an article of evidence by someone who can “prove” it’s existence. But why do I need to suffer like this?
I know that in a divine perspective, the higher power, or god, would want a person to not think about the afterlife at the moment because it isn’t even our time yet, and quite honestly, you literally CANT know until it happens.

But what keeps us grounded in this topic? For what we know we are the most gifted and most consciously aware species out there at the moment, but why?
I thought I knew everything, but I really don’t and I never did. What do the fellow followers of 973 eht Namuh say about the afterlife?
Where can I be directed to Dave Denisons mention of the afterlife on the site?

I apologize for my spontaneous anxieties, but it’s a dilemma that most people don’t have, or don’t even like to think about because they want to think that life is simple. I, however, have never thought this way.
Maybe I’m gifted to think in a more divine perspective, but it sometimes feels like a curse.
Then he said, "I lostmyhead" can you see it?
