A STRUGGLE FOR PEACE AND TRANQUILITY –
Marking the 9th of August 2026
Is there future for tranquillity, or a forever conflicted mirage of ashes to dust?
Where peace on paper is not scorned as valueless scrawl by mistrusted hands.
Tumbled buildings piled into rubble coffins, ringed by broken battlefields of rust.
Fearful we watch the rise of dictators, and the collapse of dissident rebel stands.
We’re taught to believe in such adages as the pen is mightier than the sword,
thou shalt not kill or steal, blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.
Yet the mainstream of human hearts is left abandoned without peaceful accord,
callously cast adrift by leadership for a forlorn existence in their place of birth.
A sea of lost souls clinging to old family neighbourhoods now war-torn and scored,
no dignity or hope, just trying to survive in a world where life has such little worth.
