The 1st of the supermoons of the year was in 16th October, now the 2nd of three of this year is
tomorrow ..
The next Supermoon, Is Monday, November, 14th at 8.52 am. EST(1352), but it will appear full the casual
observer in the day before and after the event, it is the second of three consecutive supermoon full moons
for 2016.
This full moon , The Beaver moon, will not only be the closest and brightest of supermoons but the
largest since 1948, and the moon won't come this close to Earth again until November, 25th, 2034.
The term 'Supermoon' is used to describe a full moon at its perigee- the point in the moon's orbit when
it is closest to Earth, causing it to appear up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter in the sky.
The Beaver Moon follows the full 'Hunter's' moon of October and the full 'Harvest' moon of September-
both of which are named for the seasonal changes that marked times when people would begin to
prepare for the coldest months ahead.

As an ever curious and avid old permaculturist I was moved to consult The Old Farmers Almanac on the subject of a Beaver Moon. And if I may say so it proved a simultaneous mind and imagination catching experience. So let the cyber quill commence its scribble, for I would never describe my handwriting as calligraphy, indeed I write as badly as Doctor dashing off his next Laudanum prescription (never far from the creative hand of many a literary giant of yore).

November’s full Moon was called the Beaver Moon by both the colonists of North America and the Algonquin tribes because this signified the ideal time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze solid, ensuring a plentiful supply of warm winter furs. It was also called the Full Frost Moon by Native Americans.

Beavers are ingenious builders, creating megalith dams that can change the flowing watercourse of entire rivers; this along with their association with water defines the beaver as a symbol of building up our dreams.

In essence, the beaver tells us to believe in our dreams as if they were real. Thus by building your life on the dream you are able to change its course of flow thereby structuring your life with a goal to put your dreams into practical reality. I can live with that as a totally constructive concept in an insanely negative world well at least in part, some would say it is perfect according to the great mother's grand plan.

In Native American Indian traditions the beaver was often seen as a holy animal, that occasionally offered great wisdom to the dreamer. If the beaver speaks to someone in the dream, it is deemed to be potentially expressing innate or even subconscious information or insights held by the dreamer that are becoming conscious. If that makes sense, in other words the appearance of the beaver is the catalytic converter triggering a perhaps similar intuition to that sudden urge to write the contents of a dream just dreamed down. I always keep a notebook beside the bed! There numerous songs, books and play plots that have emerged this way according to the writers.
