A Beautifully Marked Ninth Day
Lead on this uber-memorable ninth day of October,
Two times the flaky whipped ice cream of choice
Say Nena’s neunundneunzig Luftballons twice over
And hear the nine thousand and ninety ninth voice.
A beacon much brightening this ninth day of October
For dark energies roil every fair-faced facet of Earth,
Pumping miasma so dense, it’s cruel to have to stay sober,
Yet this tiny light dangles; the carrot of change and rebirth.
