Alexander Scriabin [4] - Mysterium
"There will not be a single spectator. All will be participants. The work requires special people, special artists and a completely new culture. The cast of performers includes an orchestra, a large mixed choir, an instrument with visual effects, dancers, a procession, incense, and rhythmic textural articulation. The cathedral in which it will take place will not be of one single type of stone but will continually change with the atmosphere and motion of the Mysterium. This will be done with the aid of mists and lights, which will modify the architectural contours."
Scriabin intended the performance to be in the foothills of the Himalayas in India, a week-long event that would be followed by the end of the world and the replacement of the human race with "nobler beings". :>

In full truth and honesty, eye must say this is a fine fine web to call a home. The art you posted similarly inspires the bits of myself that finds places of transition and wandering to be the very edges of the world where all manner of inspiration and thought through which flow into the receptive. Beyond this marvel-thread itself, eye foresee much to be taught and learned, many webs to spin, and wond'rous new creatures to meet and regreet. If you or the rest of the glinting souls [spinning/spun/spanning] here should have any inquiries about myself eye would be more than welcome to further elucidate.

Dear H4RV5P3X thank you for your flight of kind words on my behalf. In art there is mainly truth and hopefully only occasional deception, nonetheless art generally stands bold and pouting ready for judgement by the naked human eye. Overall I'd like to think there is at least a ripple of beauty in the eye of every beholder.
Moving light footed along the high wire of that theme, there is undoubted beauty across the natural world, be it captured by brush and paint, the smudging of charcoal and soft pencil, on celluloid or the digital dash of a fleeting camera, tablet or smartphone.
No finer example, might I be permitted to report, than the male mandarin duck - Aix galericulata - beneath, which has found perhaps unwanted celebrity in the Big Apple that is New York, following his recent mysterious appearance to grace the waters of The Lake in Central Park.

Today Wednesday 14th of November The 1929 painting above, Chop Suey became the most expensive of piece of famed U.S. artist Edward Hopper's work ever bought at auction ($92m).
It remains a favourite picture of mine, but the thought of what succour such a vast sum would bring to suffering mankind is way above a nagging doubt, it is a preposterously huge black cloud. $92 million represents 7.6 per cent of the entire World Food Programme structured to alleviate the famine in Yemen this summer which at the time was aimed at 9.1 million desperate people. Edward Hopper is an artist that does truly and deeply stirs my soul with his work, it's something in the expressions of the persons in his works, the body language that speaks of a certain intangible longing. My own internal hope is then carried towards the folks in his paintings and it creates a warm feeling of interaction. He is entirely appropriate for a place such as this.
Secondly, I would like to add one more artist to this repository. This is the artist Zardulu.
Zardulu was a mythmaker in the modern world. Their primary mode of expression was through staging juxtapositions of animals doing various irregular behaviors and having those stories be carried into the public conscious as a possible reality. A rat dragging a piece of pizza down some steps in New York City, a video of an iguana popping out of the toilet in Florida, a families photographs being edited in equal parts creepy and humorous style by an incompetent photo editor. These events and happenings were all constructed by this artist but then validated by the media as a true and factual happening and by their lack of scrutiny, they disseminated these events effectively entering them into the public consciousness myth and legend are wont to do.
Amongst those performance pieces (frequently utilizing taxidermied or well trained animals), they also have made visual arts and a language apparently based in both geomantic and runic design (the language is said to be phonetic to some degree and that the language switches codes at different points, nobody has quite translated it unfortunately).
They opened their exhibition entitled Triconis Aeternis with a ritual feast to Hermes. The summation of their work was the end of that exhibition in which Zardulu was ritually put to rest. Folks at the exhibition were told that Zardulu's body was split and hidden around the city with a measure of a material reward for those who found it. Some patrons assumed it is a form of allegory or the final in a series of typical "Zardulu" myths. There were 93 editions of their last book of written and drawn works (titled Triconis Aeternis).
The final utterance given from Zardulu was the number 93.
While the artist themselves may still live, I believe all material qualities of Zardulu have perished on that day (yet their eternal qualities, much like all of our eternal qualities shall ever remain).
