Hi there! I've known about this site for a while but only recently started seriously researching it. It's always left me utterly confused, fascinated, and intrigued. It mostly boils to four main questions:
1. Other than being an English surrealist painter and the site's creator, which is all I know about him, who is David Dennison?
2. What exactly is it? It seems like a religion, a science, a holy text, an essay, a mathematical proof and an art gallery all rolled into one.
3. What is its purpose? Is it trying to save humanity, elevate them to a higher consciousness, prove something or is it just a madman's ramblings?
4. Who/what is the Zed Aliz Zed and what are the passages he's mentioned in about? Did David write them himself?
Any and all guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Dear HandThatFeeds, thank you for your enquiring post you have obviously spent some time roaming the site and it has achieved its primary goal to ignite interest in alternative thought process for the greater good and improved life circumstance of all humankind and sentient beings on our precious planet. So a brief introduction to the essence of the site is in order to offer some answers and thank you again for boarding the train, Redbeck.

A body that will eventually, under the stewardship of states-persons of powerful positive intellect, possessing sane and compassionate minds with an impeccable moral compass, utterly devoid of ego or obsession with either power or money, can hopefully fashion a quality of life for all. A quality of life and law that will dismiss a prevailing rampantly capitalistic self-centred society and cosign it into history, voiding its gluttonous appetite for precious elementary raw material fuelling ceaseless over production and therefore atrocious waste of materialistic possessions, that is systematically destroying the human race. Sharing resources dominated by a minority like water, forest, grassland, and agricultural produce to establish global balance and wellbeing.

You will also note that within this vehicle for positive global change, that transposition of language into number is haas prroved to be vitally important to the process. The resulting numeric patterns that already appear within our work as well as future decoding, are highly tuned sensory indicators of the stress and crash points in our world that require addressing with great urgency, in order to prevent the whole socio-political system under which we presently exist sliding off the cliff-edge into chaos, which is not just a mathematical theory about the influence of small changes but a potentially horrific reality

Along with this, we believe that the creative arts in all forms are hugely influential in a more joyful movement for change that will help revive a flagging world and rejuvenate a rapidly and sadly so, declining grasp of spirituality and humanity.

Above all the greatest ambition is to stimulate alternative thought processes among the 973-eht-namuh-973 community that could eventually result in action plans for the greater good of humankind.

Thanks for the reply. That cleared up many of my questions and much of what hasn't been answered here has been clarified by going through the extensive archive of old forum posts. Thanks to the knowledge I've found here on the forum, due in large part to people like you, I believe I have a much better understanding of the site and its workings than I had when I first found it. I still have some questions, but I believe I will find the answers in due time, either from people here or from conclusions I reach myself. Like you said, it's better to keep that flame of curiosity burning than to extinguish it by giving all the answers at once. The more questions one has, the more they will learn. As Syd Barrett once said,

All too often dismissed as a fantasist who created lyrical montages from drug-driven word salad imagery fragments. Barrett in time will assume his rightful place in the canon of English poetics, to which he made vital contributions.

The song ‘Octopus’was the first single by Syd Barrett as a solo artist was released on 14th of November 1969, two months before the release of his first solo album The Madcap Laughs In its most literal interpretation the work recalls memories of fairground rides, collated with a sea-faring poem. Barrett’s song resounds with a long string of references to rhymes, poems, and songs culled from English folk lore. In Syd's own words, "The idea was based on those number songs like ‘Green Grow the Rushes, Ho!’ where you have twelve lines each related to the next and an overall theme. It’s like a fool-proof combination of lyrics, really, and then the chorus comes in and changes the tempo but holds the whole thing together." Also the works of English classics scholar, poet, translator and novelist Robert Graves, a favourite of Syd’s, figure prominently in ‘Octopus’.

Britain’s oldest travelling funfair, Midsummer Fair, has been held on Cambridge’s Midsummer Common for over 800 years. At the end of June, an encampment of lorries rolls into the university city of Cambridge and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England, on the River Cam approximately 50 miles (80 km) north of London. The cavalcade brings in dozens of fairground rides, tents, games and diversions. Assembled on the Common for several days, townspeople flocked with their children, a vivid alternate fairground world. Walking through the amusements tent, the scent of mown grass rising up through the tent in the heat, Midsummer fair was magic.

A visit in to the fair 1963 when he was around 17 along with Libby Gausden left Syd with strong memories, ones that he sketched in a letter. Further, his trip to the Skegness Butlin’s Holiday Camp took him through a Pleasure Ground with octopus ride and vibrantly painted carousel with stallion horses. The Octopus ride, with gyrating arms, bright with lights, whirled on a central axis, while centrifugal motion spun each car whether the occupants liked it or not. Octopus rides were built by a company called Lusse of Blackpool in the 1930’s. The machines proved popular, with dizzy rises, and sweeping plunges.
