Wooden flame

Stoke the flames,
Grab a chair,
Tonight we are cooking a hare!

Skin the hide,
Keep the fur,
Season the meat,
With wooden delight!

With this meal,
That we hunters share,
We all can rejoice!

For it provides banter,
And energy!
In tomorrow's cull!
To provide power,
To us all.

The man who stands at a strange threshold,
Should be cautious before he crosses it,
Glance this way and that:
Who knows beforehand what foes may sit
Awaiting him in the hall?

With this night ending,
And our dreams unrelenting,
We finish packing our nests again,
For when this dawn breaks,
The hunt begins.

To follow our ancestors plight,
Leading our cause for hunger in light,
We forever consume our killings,
For its that cycle that keeps us willing.

For when that day breaks back,
Behind the forever sea of black,
We will once again continue to kill,
To provide that wooden fill,
To provide that heat much needed,
To cook our kill,
The one who we wished pleaded.

Finally with a days of blessing,
We surround our dying candle of wood,
And drink to the ceremony of life,
Forever.
