The return of Pan establishes a new pact between opposites and will see the representation and communication between the two aspects of reality explode.



Therefore panic.

Evil and well confused to the point that discernment will not be possible unless one has cultivated it intimately in times of peace.

Pan's return is the influx of human blood.

Death and violence but also revelation of the hidden truths because the new Era is born with blood and pain.

Pan is deprivation and at the same time opulence. Because he is the Goat but also the lord of Abundance.

He, like Giano, has the face that everyone chooses with his own actions.



Pan is Baphomet.
High as Low.
Solve et coagula.
Male and female.
Waning and growing.
Kundalini which goes up to Keter.
Lucifer, bearer of Light.

The cyclic number is the best mathematical representation, in my opinion, of a fractal historical event.
Human history, the single existence of every human being is a perfectly cyclic / fractal geometric object.

Mike Scott the main songwriter is a deeply spiritual man, he has pursued a life-long interest in the Western esoteric tradition, sometimes known as the Perennial Wisdom. He also spent extended periods in the mid-90s at the influential spiritual community known as the Findhorn Foundation at Forres in the north of Scotland, a centre for spiritual and ecological enquiry, part of his continuing search for an ageless wisdom beyond the world’s spiritual systems and religions.The Findhorn Foundation is one of the largest intentional communities in Britain and has been home to thousands of residents from more than 40 countries.

I visited many years ago but at the time had not fully recognised my need to include the paganism relative to the natural world within my spirituality. Yet as a musician, I had recognised the power for good that also resides in Pan as a result of my strong connection with a book titled The Wind in the Willows, a children's novel by Kenneth Grahame, first published in 1908. Specifically Chapter 7 The Piper at the Gates of Dawn which certainly to my mind contains one among the most beautiful pieces of English prose ever written. In this chapter a lost baby otter, Portly who has been missing for several days is found asleep by two of the main characters Rat and Mole (who have promised to join in the search by other creatures resident on the river bank) at the feet of Pan who has cared for and protected him in the interim.

During the reign of Tiberius (A.D. 14-37), the news of Pan's death came to one Thamus, a sailor on his way to Italy by way of the island of Paxi. A divine voice hailed him across the salt water, "Thamus, are you there? When you reach Palodes,[17] take care to proclaim that the great god Pan is dead." Which Thamus did, and the news was greeted from shore with groans and laments.

Robert Graves (The Greek Myths) suggested that the Egyptian Thamus apparently misheard Thamus Pan-megas Tethnece 'the all-great Tammuz is dead' for 'Thamus, Great Pan is dead!' Certainly, when Pausanias toured Greece about a century after Plutarch, he found Pan's shrines, sacred caves and sacred mountains still very much frequented.

I perceive sadness and nostalgia in your words, Redbeck, as if you had lost something you had touched.

But Pan is also in that sadness, he possesses any voice, any sound, any noise and feeling.
