YAWAR FIESTA
The festival takes place from 28 to 30 July.
The protagonists are a Bull and a Condor; the bull represents the Spaniards and the condor the Andean people. The first phase involves the capture of a Condor "with due precautions for the animal itself" is then tied with ropes on the back of the bull, who hearing the pecks of the Condor begins to run confused. At the same time, the bull is incited by people who try to annoy the animal with their poncho, which, still caught in freeing itself from the Condor placed on its back, runs mad. After so much running the bull runs out of his energies and is practically defeated by the Andean Condor who represents the Andean people, hence the victory over the Spaniards. Between music and party the condor is released into the mountains.

This Andean tradition aims to understand what the future of the people will be like; if the condor is injured or even worse dies, it means that there will be negative situations for the people ... usually it does not happen.
