Naz, what advice would you give for an initiate? Do you see masonry as a viable option still? Should I just study under the Jesuits or a similar sect or continue my studies independently?

Under law of unity we’re all on the same page, yet I’m looking for structure that isn’t suffocating, and essentially a way to speak to the general population who believes masons are a bunch of satanist and prove their culture same with Jesuits and “heretical” Gnostics. Freemasonry is and always has been a way to communicate moral ideals through a rhetorical play. There is no mysticism in any "ritual", and discussions on religion are usually banned within a lodge. If you want to be a "better man", Freemasonry is definitely a good way to go. But you have to understand that you'll be expected to concede to moral standards. I am not a Mason as I am not financially independent and therefore not a "free man" but I have a wealth of understanding from growing up in a Masonic household.

If you're looking for a more religious experience, Jesuits are certainly an option (though I'm personally not a fan of the order as it stands now.) My brother knows much more about them, though.

As for going it alone, while that certainly is a viable option, there are more opportunities for following your way with others than just Freemasonry or Jesuits of course.

I am assuming by your consideration of the Jesuits that you are a Catholic? If so, you may be interested in more mystic orders for lay catholics. I do not know of any, I will ask my brother, he is a devout Catholic. If you're not, then I would council against the Jesuits, as they're specifically a Catholic group.

Explore. Try your options. Maybe you'll find a hitherto unknown group local to yourself. Just make sure it feels right to you. If you're uncomfortable, there's a reason for it.
