Hello again my friends,
Today I would very much like to share one of my poems from my personal collection. The piece is called, "Maintain the Monument." It is written to be read aloud as a meditation; for either guided group sessions or just for yourself. I sincerely send each of you the greatest of vibrations, & may you have blessings as you continue your own paths of enlightenment.
Maintain the Monument - 06/04/2022
You are not…broken
You are strong…and you have chosen
To remain here…on Earth
Because you have purpose…you have worth
But we humans…easily fall
With shattered confidence…and torn down walls
That’s why we feel…as though we can break
Because no matter how small…it seems everything’s at stake
We live on each end…of the extremes
Always on the floor…or pressed against the ceiling
We rarely ever…just look at the room
Too high of expectations…leave us dreaming about the moon
But if we’re always standing…on our tippy toes
It’s a precarious position…one that foreshadows
An unfortunate mistake…that usually hurts
And like Icarus…we plummet back down to Earth
It’s not that you should never…fly close to the sun
Why shouldn’t you?…It’s freeing, beautiful, and fun.
But if we were to go skydiving…without knowing what to do
Surely I’d panic…and I think you would too.
As children, we were told…that its ok to dream
But that’s before we knew…living isn’t as easy as it seemed
It’s not that…dreaming is wrong
We just did all our dreaming…before we were strong.
And now that…we are older.
Our heads are down…our hearts much colder
Chilled to the bone…and ready to shatter
But we’re still teeter-tottering…as if nothing really matters.
There is a lesson…to be learned
In order for this fire…to properly burn
Those hefty logs…use those as your base
Fortify them…by giving yourself some grace.
Our foundations…are all too weak
We’ve allowed our perceptions…to grow very bleak
It’s a vicious cycle…we do to ourselves
You must be so tired…of living in this hell.
But if we were…to plant our feet
Into the Earth…and allow our roots to grow deep
We’d be prepared for when…life tries to push us down
As the most immovable object…we’d wear the crown
Your roots are now…securely in the ground
Like the Giant Sequoias…who are huge and round
The wind may blow them…to and fro
But their roots…will never let them go
Create a solid base…around your core
And afterwards…allow the love to pour
Nourish your roots…so you can reach for the sun
Be patient love…for your life has just begun.
Like a great monument…that you must maintain
You stand steadfast…so you can remain
On this place…we call Earth
Because you have purpose…you have worth.
