Post-Ragnarök era only two human survivors, will 13th century poet Snorri Sturluson be proveth right and just in both Prose and Poetic Edda. Snorri the fisherman, he who hath firmly hooked 19th-century composer Richard Wagner into his whirlpool plunge of devotion in the last of his Der Ring des Nibelungen operas, Götterdämmerung (1876) which may have served to progress both him and the idea into comic depiction a century or so later.
