This post in some ways triggers the old memory banks into recall of a long lost morsel of cerebral investigation on the subject of Solipsism.

Yes you heard it right, Solipsism : from the Latin solus, meaning 'alone', and ipse, meaning 'self'

The philosophical idea that only one's own mind is sure to exist. Followers of Solipsism believe that knowledge of anything outside one's own mind is unsure; therefore the external world and other minds cannot be known and might not exist outside the mind. Taking a metaphysical position, solipsism goes one step further, concluding that the world and other minds do not exist.

The theory of solipsism at the time merited close examination because of its adherence to three widely held philosophical presuppositions, each in itself fundamental and consequently of wide-ranging in importance:

a) My most certain knowledge is the content of my own mind—my thoughts, experiences, affects, etc.

b) There is no conceptual or logically necessary link between mental and physical, for example, the
occurrence of certain conscious experience or mental states and the 'possession' and behavioural
dispositions of a 'body' of a particular kind

c) The experience of a given person is necessarily private to that person.

I can’t physically remember how far I got down that path, but I remember it seemed to relate well to
alcoholism, a well travelled track in my case up to 15 years ago. Possibly, why I don’t physically remember
which Solipsism milestone I’d actually reached in my intellectual pursuit of the theory .
