Ah yes the Ancient Egyptian myth of Isis and Osiris. The god Osiris is murdered by his usurper brother Set, not a straightforward murder, but one which involves his body being torn to scattered pieces by Set's monster form. His widow Isis, a potent sorcerer, then tenderly gathers the many and far flung fragments of her dead husband, pieces them together and resurrects and restores his body just long enough to conceive his child. Isis' belly begins to swell and Osiris is allowed to descend into the underworld, where he becomes lord of the dead. The child of their union, Horus, becomes the god of kings for the ensuing ages.
