Help in Conversion of Flash animations to .GIF files
Flash is to be phased out as a technology next year. There are still a number of Flash-based animations [Spinning YingYangs] running within www.973-eht-namuh-973.com some of which contain embedded hyperlinks that act as navigation points around the website. The problem is now that these Flash animations [Spinning YingYangs including .FLA and .SWF files] no longer show up in their original spinning state rather as a static white square with a jigsaw piece symbol, this is now the standard preamble presented to the user which when clicked prompts the user to “run Flash [Allow or Block]”.
This is a first from our point of view, but we are wondering if among our growing band of esteemed member contributors and their seriously sharp minds there are people that have knowledge of converting Flash animations into GIF format animations.
As I understand it, while there are converter software products out there they are not particularly reliable and generally provide poor end product, the best method of achieving the conversion is to use two modules of Adobe Creative Suite [Now renamed as Creative Cloud]. These modules are I believe: What was formerly known as Flash Professional, which is required to export a PNG file of the existing Flash animation to the 2nd module Adobe Photoshop, which generates a final GIF file.
The Flash animations in question can be found at the following points in the main website:
http://www.973-eht-namuh-973.com/colour ... .htm#start
Scroll down to the bottom, beneath a line of coloured numbers 1 to 9 is the white square with the jigsaw symbol, click on this and ‘Allow’ Flash to ‘Run’. Clicking on this Spinning YingYang takes the user to INDEX 5.

A larger different black & white coloured Spinning YingYang will be found at the top immediately beneath the rainbow.
We have looked for assistance in our own back garden but it’s not freely available, therefore your help is much appreciated in advance. Yours sincerely Redbeck

Dear Koguntetsu, Thank you for your help all the more important because I had not managed to unearth the information you have discovered relevant to the poor quality of the end product GIFs resulting from Flash to GIF conversions , it appears that both the original smooth movement quality and colour availability suffer.
It certainly highlights the loss of smooth movement qualities by converting to GIF in the YouTube video. The video also implies that it would be better should start again from scratch by building up multiple layer images and creating Windows AVI files. Despite Flash being deemed so superior it will not be supported by any of the primary browsers beyond 2020. I wonder if there is an App out there that would convert Flash to MP4 or WEBM.
Anyway, thanks again and the discussion continues. Creative Cloud is infinitely more cost effective for students and teachers than a number of ageing instruction seers trying to create a better tomorrow for humanity. Kind Regards Redbeck

Re: Help in Conversion of Flash Animations to .GIF files
I think that you might very well have to start from scratch, as i have tried every known method under the sun to try to convert the "yinyang4.swf" into any other media, be it mp4, GIF, WEBM, or even plain images to convert to another file format. (Seems to be a codec error) Now my only other idea is to decompile the SWF and convert it manually. If i can't manage that, I'll keep an eye out.Redbeck wrote: 15 Mar 2019 23:05 The video also implies that it would be better should start again from scratch by building up multiple layer images and creating Windows AVI files. On another note, even though that image suffers quality loss, it is still quite captivating in it's own right.
Edit: At the very least i was able to decompile the SWF to it's base components, like "Buttons", "Shapes", "Sprites", etc. and the SWF files contained therein. If you wish, I could PM you some contact information and I could hand over the files I've extracted.
