Why is darkness feared...

Post by hope »

Fear of darkness is instilled in us from an early age,bedtime stories,scary films and the bogie man all involve darkness,things that go 'bump in the night' our parents said'goodnight hope the bedbugs don't bite etc...even some blind people are scared of darkness as they hear their friends or siblings telling things.
It's not the darkness itself but the thinking of the unknown not seen within that dark,we imagine all sorts of things which
trigger the fear in us but there is nothing in the darkness there wasn't in the light..it seems irrational,it's actually night that is feared not the dark,at nighttime people become more vigilant
Dark should be the clam after the day,we need night to refresh our bodies & minds.. Therefore it is once again an even balance in creation...

Light=2
Darkness =1
Fear =3

Oh Mandino....
I love the light as it shows us the way,yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.
